Insights Discovery is a simple and memorable tool that helps individuals understand themselves and others better, leading to the development of stronger relationships at work.

Team icon The Insights Discovery Profile is widely used by organisations who want their teams to work better together. It’s trusted by 48% of the Fortune 500 and is used by thousands of organisations globally because it helps people understand how they prefer to think, communicate and work, and how that is likely to be showing up for others. In our experience, that tends to be the blind spot: how people see themselves is rarely how everyone else sees them.

Insights Discovery uses a simple and memorable four colour model to help people understand their style, their strengths and the value they bring to the team. These are called the colour energies, and it’s the unique mix of Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue energies, which determines how and why people behave the way they do. This four-colour model gives teams a shared, neutral language to talk about difference within the team and because the model is visual and intuitive, people tend to remember it and use it in their day-to-day working conversations. This shared reference point supports better dialogue, more intentional collaboration and more sustainable behavioural change over time.

For teams, this often creates an important shift. People begin to see that a colleague who they may perceive as being a ‘bit difficult’ may just be operating from a different starting point. That awareness makes it easier to adjust, reduce friction and collaborate more effectively, particularly in moments of pressure or disagreement.

How the Insights Discovery process works

We work closely with you to agree the best way to introduce Insights Discovery in your organisation. For most of our clients, it works best as part of a team off-site or conference, team away day or a dedicated team development session, where people have the space to step back and reflect together.

The process begins with team members being asked to complete a short online evaluation, which takes about 20 minutes to complete. Participants respond to a series of structured questions that explore behavioural preferences and motivations at work.

From this, each person receives a detailed personal profile that offers clear, practical insight into:

Their strengths and potential blind spots
How they typically communicate and influence others
Their approach to decision-making and problem-solving
The value they bring to a team and what helps them perform at their best

After a full exploration of the model together, the profile is shared with each participant as part of their team development session. We also offer participants the opportunity to have a more detailed feedback and coaching session with us, which provides further insights and more importantly, the support to be able to translate these insights into practical development actions that they can take back into their teams and the workplace.

While the model is firmly grounded in science and delivers powerful insights, it’s how it’s experienced that really matters. We make the sessions engaging, accessible and relevant to real working relationships, creating the conditions for open conversations, trust and psychological safety. That’s what allows teams to explore differences honestly, learn from one another and take something genuinely back into their day-to-day work.

Discovering Team Effectiveness

Building on the initial Insights Discovery Team Session, Discovering Team Effectiveness provides a framework to help teams identify their most pressing issues and development opportunities. We help teams get to the heart of their working dynamics, improving relationships, increasing productivity and creating high performance teams. This one-day workshop is a fantastic follow-up workshop and can help your team members think about their individual contribution to the team’s culture and performance, with a focus on fostering better team relationships.

Leadership Effectiveness

Leadership Effectiveness is our one-day session that uses the core learning from Insights Discovery with a specific focus on leadership. We work with leaders to explore their personal leadership style and unique value across four key pillars: Results Leadership, Visionary Leadership, Relationship Leadership and Centered Leadership. This session explores the Insights Discovery leadership model and how the individual’s colour energy preferences influence their leadership style, and the way they are perceived by their direct team. It focuses on the self-awareness of the individual leader and how they can leverage their understanding of colour energies to improve their team’s performance and working environment. Along with the original Insights Discovery session, this workshop can form the foundation for leadership development programmes. We have extensive experience of integrating self-awareness tools into leadership development and high potential development programmes.

Sales Effectiveness

Sales Effectiveness is for salespeople who want to develop their skills, improve their interactions with customers and apply a people-centered approach to sales. It provides salespeople with a unique insight into themselves and their customers and explores how preferences and behavior can impact customers at each stage of the sale. Learners receive a personal profile including the Effective Selling Chapter which explores their strengths and weaknesses at each stage of the sales cycle in the context of their color preferences. Learners can use this, together with the session, to develop these areas and increase their selling success, through greater self-awareness and awareness of others.

Discovery Full Circle 360

Discovery Full Circle is a tool which offers 360 degree feedback, bringing personal feedback to life in an engaging and positive way. It compares an individual’s self-perception with the perceptions of a feedback group. Based on the same principles as Insights Discovery, Discovery Full Circle helps an individual gather feedback from others to better understand how others interact with them on a day to day basis.

Team members complete a questionnaire beforehand, enabling a shared language at the workshop that helps everyone understand each other’s communication styles.
