Coach an client discussing Hogan Assessment in office buildingWith 30+ years of independent research, over 11 million assessments and trusted by 75% of the Fortune 500 – including PepsiCo, Microsoft, Nike, and HSBC — Hogan Assessments are the world-renowned authority in personality assessments for talent acquisition and leadership development.

Hogan Assessments are designed to measure an individual’s reputation rather than their identity. Identity refers to how a person perceives themselves, while reputation reflects how others are likely to view them. For instance, someone may see themselves as highly organised and detail-oriented, but others might perceive them as potentially inflexible at times or struggling with ambiguity.

We are proud to be certified to administer and interpret the Hogan Assessments for our clients.

Hogan’s Three Core Assessments:

Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI)

This assessment was developed specifically for the business community and highlights how individuals relate to others when they are at their best – an individual’s ‘bright side’ of personality. Specifically, it describes how individuals manage stress, interact with others, approach work tasks and solve problems. It can provide an excellent insight into how people are likely to lead and the role they are likely to play in teams.

Hogan Development Survey (HDS)

This assessment reveals 11 interpersonal behaviours that are usually strengths — but when overused or poorly managed, especially under stress, they can derail leadership and damage relationships. By identifying these potential ‘derailers’, or the ‘dark side’ of personality, individuals can spot performance risks early and take action before they become real problems.

Hogan Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI)

This assessment uncovers an individual’s core values, goals, and interests – key factors that shape their job satisfaction and career decisions. By exploring 10 motivational dimensions, this assessment provides valuable insights into what matters most to them and the organisational environments where they are most likely to excel.

A Hogan 360 is also available. Used alongside the Hogan personality assessments, the Hogan 360 offers a rich, dual perspective — combining self-insight with real-world feedback from others. Together, they create a clear foundation for personalised development plans that focus on the areas with the greatest potential for growth and impact.
